2. E2D User interface - opening instructions and overview

Make sure that you've completed the previous steps: Setting up the network.

It is common that by default, the network interface card of your device has an IP address assigned by a DHCP server. In order to enter the E2D UI, you need to make sure that your device has an IP address from the same IP address pool as Vertex controller, which is: 10.0.6.X

Instructions

  1. Set the static IP address of your PC or other device. You can see how to do this here.

  2. Type in the IP address of Vertex in the address bar of your browser.

The default IP address of Vertex is 10.0.6.50

3. After a short loading time, you will see the E2D graphical user interface (UI).

E2D UI overview

In the left part of the screen, you can notice the main sections:

  • System status - the starting page where you can view the topology of the system and see the status of the system, warning/error messages and Site information (Cluster configuration).

  • Identification - a place where you can identify devices or luminiaires. Identification allows you to choose which Vertex, DALI bus and device type you want to identify.

  • Control Groups - here is where you can create, manage, delete groups. You can test your grouping using group actions.

  • Control Devices - here you can quickly commission your sensors and buttons with simple logic. First filter the control devices by Vertex and DALI buses. Then specify the function and group targets for control devices.

  • Scenes - define and manage lighting scenes for devices and groups.

  • Emergency setup - a section for managing and grouping Emergency luminaires. Enables you to schedule durational and functional tests.

  • Device list - a list of all devices connected to the system, divided into three categories: general lighting, emeregency lighting and control devices.

  • Reports - a section where you can see and download the systems functional or duration test reports.

  • Logic - opens Node-RED, which is the main logic programming tool for the E2D system.

  • Logs - this page gives you access to an activity log of your system.

  • User page - here you can change your user details or logout of your account.

  • Settings - the settings page allows users to perform software updates, create backups, adjust time settings and monitor current activity for the whole cluster.
