5. Identifying luminaires

If you are in the process of an initial setup make sure that you've completed the previous step: 4. Clearing devices on the buses

Identification allows you locate and group devices in the building. Luminaires flash while being identified and control devices can have a LED or give an acoustic signal.

Emergency luminaires operating in dark mode will flash with their status LED.

Instructions

  1. Check if the number of devices in the System status section is correct (if all devices have been found).

  2. Open the Identification tab on the left-hand side of the screen.

3. Follow the process of filtering the devices: Vertex, DALI bus and Device type. Navigate through filtering stages using a right arrow button [1]

Vertex

Select your desired Vertex controller.

DALI bus

Select appropriate DALI bus.

You can define a unique naming pattern for devices in your system [2].

Device type

Select device type: General lighting, Emergency lighting, Control devices.

4. Once you’ve done that, you will see the list of those devices found on the selected Vertex controller port. To identify the device, turn on Identify Device [3]. The selected luminaire will start blinking.

5. In this tab you can also enter a name for each device, as well as assign it to a certain control group. More information can be found in the next step: 6. Grouping of luminaires

The next step: Grouping of luminaires
