Creating a backup allows you to save the system logic so that you can return to it in case of problems. The backup is a json file. It contains all the system logic (names of devices, groups, connections between devices, parameters and rules of behavior). Backups are created for whole Vertex clusters at once.
It is recommended to create a backup before updating the software and immediately after completing commissioning.
Instruction
Select any Vertex controller from the cluster you want to back up and enter its host page using a browser.
Go to Settings [1] section in E2D UI.
Log in using your admin password if needed.
In the Backup section [2], click the “Backup this vertex” button [3]. You should do this for each Vertex in your system.
Wait for backup creation - it may take several minutes. Waiting time depends on how big your system is. After backup creation, a file will be automatically downloaded by your browser, make sure not to change the file name.
