(Classic) The most common errors

Symptoms

Causes

Actions

After connecting to the mains, the POWER LED is switched off

The device is not powered correctly

Check the power supply

A burned fuse

Replace the fuse

Damaged power supply circuits

Replace the device

The POWER LED is on, but the STATUS and CLOUD LEDs are off

Device update in progress

Wait 10 minutes until the update is completed

The STATUS LED blinks with RED and GREEN

The defaults are being restored

Wait until the process is over

The STATUS LED shows solid RED light

Error with the device

Restart the device

If it didn't help, upload the latest software version (even again)

If that didn't help, restore the Vertex to factory settings

If that didn't help, please contact us

The port status LED (PORT1, PORT2, PORT3) shows solid light

Short-circuit on the bus

Eliminate the short-circuit

230 V on the port

Eliminate the mains voltage from the port

Damaged port

Replace the device

Firestarter does not detect one or more VERTEX control units

Active firewall in the operating system

Deactivate all firewalls on the computer (the systemic firewall, antivirus firewall, etc.)

Add an exception to the firewall

The VERTEX control unit is not powered correctly

Check the power supply

Problem with network connections

Check network connections between VERTEX and the mobile device on which the application is run

Blocked ports in the LAN network

Have the admin unblock the ports according to the Network requirments document

The VERTEX control application does not show all devices

Addressing of devices in progress

Wait until the addressing is complete

Wait until the data reading from all devices is complete

Data reading from devices in progress

Wait until the data reading from all devices is complete

After the commissioning, the number of devices will steadily grow as the parameters from successive addresses are being read

No bus continuity – the device is incorrectly connected to the DALI bus

Eliminate the bus continuity problems

The bus is too long (>300 m)

Use a shorter cable to connect the device

Install the signal repeater

A doubled address – two or more devices have the same short address

Remove and readdress the devices

Alert in the application – connection error

No connection with one or more VERTEX control units

Check network connections between VERTEX and the device on which the application is run

Alert in the application – 230 V on a port

230 V AC mains voltage is connected to one or more device bus ports

Eliminate the mains voltage from the port

Alert in the application – too many devices on the port

Too many devices are connected to one or more device bus ports

Reduce the number of devices

Alert in the application – short-circuit on a port

Short-circuit on one or more device bus ports

Eliminate short-circuit

Alert in the application – DCASE communication error

Internal VERTEX error

Restart the device

If that didn't help, please contact us

Alert in the application –EEPROM error

EEPROM disconnected

Switch the device off

Remove the top right-hand plug in the device

Verify if EEPROM is connected correctly

Switch the device on

EEPROM damage

Replace the memory or the device

Alert in the application –FLASH memory error

Damage of internal FLASH memory in the device

Replace the device

Alert in the application – network not configured

The cluster of VERTEX control units is not configured – it has to be configured even if it is only one device

Configure the network

Red error message after triggering an action

The action has not been triggered on the VERTEX control unit(s)

No connection with one or more VERTEX control units

Check network connections between VERTEX and the device on which the application is run

Groups described as ERROR UID appear in the Grouping tab

The cluster of VERTEX control units is not configured – it has to be configured even if it is only one device

Configure the network

The events triggered from the time schedule are executed too early/late

The time on the VERTEX control units is not synchronised

Synchronise the time

Wrong time on the tablet

Unsynchronised time on the VERTEX control units

Synchronise the time

More than one device responds to a command

Doubled address – two or more devices have the same short address

Remove and readdress the devices

The actuators lose their configured parameters (names, design names, groups, scenes, etc.) after the control unit restart

The cluster of VERTEX control units is not configured – it has to be configured even if it is only one device

Configure the network

Numerous devices have the same serial number

The manufacturer of DALI power supplies does not use different serial numbers

Do not take any action – this is not an operating problem

It is not possible to read serial numbers from the power supply – the power supply does not conform to the DALI standards

Change the power supply in the luminaire

A luminaire is not responding although it is displayed as a group member

The power supply in the luminaire has a Communication error (or had one during grouping)

Eliminate the problem on the communication line between VERTEX and the power supply in the luminaire

Add the device to the group again

Strange serial numbers of luminaires/devices. A higher amount of devices than actually installed. Other device types than actually installed

A loop in the bus

Eliminate the loop

Remove all devices from the bus
