(Classic) Firestarter application doesn't detect Vertex controllers
If you can’t see any controllers in the Firestarter app, it may be because of several factors. Read this troubleshooting article and find your solution.
Before you start
Try the proposed solutions in The most common errors. Look for Firestarter does not detect one or more VERTEX control units in the table.
If you have both Vertex 2 and Vertex 3 on your site, read this guide first.
Solution 1
Restart the Vertex manually (plug out the power supply and power the device again).
Close the Firestarter app on your phone.
Connect to the Vertex WiFi.
Run the Firestarter app.
Follow the steps described here. Check if the app finds all Vertexes.
Solution 2
Type in the http://YOUR_VERTEX_IP/netconfig in the browser. In the entry screen, check if the IPv4 option is enabled.
Follow the steps described here. Check if all controllers are seen within the netconfig app.
Make sure that all controllers are assigned with the intended IP addresses. Then, commission the system accordingly to E2D Commissioning.
If you have done the network configuration before and then you don’t see Vertexes in the Firestarter app, check if Vertexes have been properly assigned with network settings. Type the http://YOUR_VERTEX_IP:1880/vertex/neghbours in the browser. If the file is empty or unavailable to reach, contact us to get further support.
