(Classic) Merging Vertex 2 and Vertex 3 within the same cluster

Vertex application controllers from generations Vertex 2 and Vertex 3 can be placed within the same cluster. Although it is not recommended way - we try to make each investment on the newest Vertex units. If the system will require merging Vertex controllers from different generations, you should do steps from this article. The key takeaway is that Vertex 2 and Vertex 3 controllers have to be assigned to different groups using the Firestarter app.

 Instructions

  1. Quick-start the Vertex controllers:

  2. Run the Firestarter mobile app.

  3. In the entry screen, select Searching to find VERTEX controllers available within the LAN network.

  4. You will see the found VERTEX controllers. The searching for devices may take several minutes. Make sure that the number of VERTEX controllers in the Firestarter app is the same as you have in your project.

  5. Assign controllers from Vertex 2 generation to a different group than the Vertex 3 controllers. Each VERTEX controller must be assigned to a group.

  6. Do the further steps (from 4 to 6) from the instruction:

Vertex controllers from different generations need to be assigned to different groups in the Firestarter mobile app.
