3. Creating Simulated Devices

3. Creating Simulated Devices

You can improve the speed and accuracy of the commissioning process by adding simulated devices to the drawings before starting on-site work. This allows for luminaire positions to be allocated and adjusted.

Array of devices

The yellow colour of the luminaire in the Wireless Radio App means a simulated object. It's an empty object with no associated luminaire. The red square above the luminaire icon means it is not linked to itself.

  1. Select Luminaires tab and make sure you are in the Locate section.

  2. Drag your finger across the drawing from top left to bottom right. A transparant beige box will appear along with 'Group Commands' on the left hand side.

  3. Select Simulate Array

  1. Enter Column Quantity and Enter Rows, saving your choices. Simulated luminaires will appear on the drawing.

The number of rows and columns available will depend on the area you select.

If you need to move a group of devices, you can do this by draging your finger across the group to select it and tapping the arrow pad in the bottom right of the screen.

Individual devices

Once you have simulated arrays for the majority of the devices it may be necessary to add one or two additional luminaires manually:

  1. Select Luminaires tab and make sure you are in the Locate section.

  1. Tap in the white box below Find, this will add an individual simulated device. Tap and hold the device to drag it onto the drawing

If you put your devices in by hand they might not be perfectly in line. You can correct this by dragging your finger over devices to mark them and then clicking the Snap buton.

The yellow luminaires are placeholders that will be replaced with real devices when commissioned. This also serves as a check to ensure that all real devices were captured on commissioning.
