Good practices before commissioning

It is important to make an installation test before connecting buses to Vertex.

Before connecting the DALI installation to the Vertex, take some measurements:

  1. Check for 230VAC on the DALI wires.

  2. Check for short circuit between DALI wires, DALI wire and N, DALI wire and PE (measure for wire continuity test).

Connect the DALI buses to the Vertex and switch to Vertex power supply. The Vertex will give you feedback through LED.

Check the following:

  1. Wait until the Power and Status LEDs turn a solid green. The Status LED may take up to 5 minutes to turn on while the controller reads all the devices on each bus.

  1. Make sure that the DC voltage on the buses is in range of 9.5 VDC-22.5 VDC, Typically: 16 VDC.

  1. If you have a LAN cable connected, check if the orange LED is solid (connected) and the green one blinks indicating communication.

  1. The orange LEDs on the front panel over to the ports will blink quickly (port scanning)

  1. Using the port buttons, you can check that all luminaires are correctly connected to the VERTEX 3 Application Controller (the feature is available from the 3.1.12 software version). Three port buttons are located on the VERTEX front panel (port 1, port 2 and port 3).

  • First press - Recall Max Level on the port

  • Second press - Recall Min Level on the port

  • Third press - Recall OFF on the port

Each press cycles the power between theese three states 100%, 10%, 0%

If any luminaire is not responding, check the cabling of that luminaire.

The blue LED (cloud) will be blinking until conection to the internet is provided. See also LMS E2D REMOTE ACCESS KIT
