How to use it in the LMS design?

To place the phase dimmer in the project, you need to remember the typical Ethernet2DALI limitationsThe maximum DALI current consumption of this device is 2 mA. It takes one DALI address on the DALI line. Bulbs with a maximum total power consumption of 300 W can be connected to the phase dimmer.

Not all LED bulbs are dimmable. Before use, check it physically or make sure in the product sheet.

How to commission it?

Identify the phase dimmer in the Vertex GUI.

  1. Go into the Vertex GUI.

  2. In the System status section, select Show filters, and in the Type field, check the Fluorescent lamp.

  3. Below, you will find the phase dimmer as the fluorescent lamp. Check the group or group it in one (or more) groups. Read Grouping of luminaires if you don’t know how to do that.

If you have several lightbulbs connected to the phase dimmer, you see them as one DALI address in Vertex GUI. They are controlled like a single DALI luminaire, so you can’t dim them individually.

Program the phase dimmer in Node-RED

  1. Go to the Node-RED. In the dali2devs common node, select the sensor or the wall panel depending on your project.

  2. If you want to dim the bulbs using a button, go to the Dimming button article.

  3. If you want to have the bulbs controlled using a presence/motion sensor, go to the Multisensor (DALI-2 sensor) article.
