(Classic) LMS E2D 6xINPUT MODULE

The input module allows you to input external signals in the E2D system. The interface is equipped with 6 potential-free inputs. This allows for the connection of any type of control device with normally open contacts to the lighting system (eg. pushbuttons, relays, time switches, presence/motion sensors, reed switches, etc.).

How to use it in LMS design?

Example: Connect the input module with any monostable switch or switches to control them. One input module can operate up to 6 buttons.

The LMS E2D 6xINPUT MODULE takes only one DALI address. For example, if a switch has 4 buttons, it takes 4 from the 6 device inputs. But it still takes only one DALI address.

Remember that you can connect up to 8 INPUT MODULES on one single DALI bus! Take this into consideration while designing the system and addressing the devices on the bus.

For identification, the device is equipped with a built-in buzzer.

Short-circuiting the input(s) and COM gives identical signal/command as pressing a push button etc.

How to commission it?

If the LMS E2D 6xINPUT MODULE was correctly connected then the VERTEX controller will be able to detect it. In Node-RED the node for the DALI2 devices is DALI2 devs. You will find it on the left-hand side of the Node-RED UI.

In the Node settings, in Serial Number field, you should choose the correct INPUT MODULE unit. It can be connected to the button, relay and other DALI2 devices. Next, in the Dali2 Device you should choose the INPUT MODULE output (it has 6 of them). Then select the Normal or ESDIM (for dimming button) in the Mode field. In Event filters define which events should be recognized by the VERTEX controller.

Then configure the vertex action node according to the function which you want to achieve. You can choose between several types of actions like single button, toggle button, triple button or dimm button. Remember to connect the vertex action output to the vertex cluster node.
