Replace device with new

Replacing devices on floors is made easy using the visual tool for positioning of devices on floorplans.

If your new device is not in the list, go to Settings → Site → Site setup and click on Device discovery

Replace with new:

To replace a device on a floor, go to Site settings → Site → Site Layout.

1. Select the floor from the sub menu on the left that you want to open up site layout for.

2. Click on accordion “Position devices on floorplan” and then on the subsequent button to go to site layout.

Inside site layout:

1. Find the device from the device list on the left that you want to replace the device with.

2. Find the device you want to replace on the floorplan, and make a mental note where it is.

3. Drag and drop the device(new) from the list on the left onto the device(old) already on the floorplan.

After dragging and dropping a device onto another device, a dialogue box will open up and you will have the following options:

1. “Yes, replace it”. Replaces the device on floorplan and inherit floorplan settings, but keep old device connected to site. The old device will go back to the list on the left side.

2. “Replace and delete old device from site”. Same as option one, but completely removes the old device from site. Use this when you want to permanently delete the old device

3. “No, add it as new”. Use this if you don’t want to replace the old device, keeping both devices on the floorplan.

4. “Cancel”. Cancels replacing device.
