(Classic) Setting DALI-2 parameters

In the Vertex GUI, you can configure DALI-2 parameters connected to the luminaire driver, e.g:

  • fade time

  • power on level

  • system failure level

Instructions

  1. Go to the Devices/Groups section and then to the Settings section.

  2. Go to the All devices section.

3. Select the single or multiple luminaires from the devices table.

Although, you can update multiple luminaires at once, you should be careful while doing so. Too many actions at the same time can lead to overloading the DALI bus and failures/freezing of the system.

4. Select the Change Properties action from the panel of actions at the bottom of the page.

5. Select the Basic DALI register from the drop-down list. Check the Fade time, Power on level, System failure level, or any other checkbox and choose the desired value.

Using the Mask checkbox, you can set a mask for the DALI parameter. This means that after Power On and System failure events, the control gear (drivers) will not react and will not change the brightness level.

You can choose from the fixed set of Fade time values. They are defined by the DALI standard: IEC 62386-102.

6. Select Run and Confirm your choice.

7. The new value for the DALI parameter will then be then sent to the DALI driver. You will see the confirmation in the lower right corner of the Vertex GUI.
