(Classic) 6. Identifying luminaires

Make sure that you've completed the previous step: Rebooting the Vertex.

This is one of the most important steps. The identification allows you to locate luminaires in the building. The identified luminaire flashes at a constant frequency.

Emergency luminaires that operate in the dark mode will flash with their status LED.

Instructions

  1. Check if the number of devices in the System status section equals the actual number of devices.

  2. Go to the Devices/Groups.

  3. Log in as an administrator.

  4. Select the Control groups tab.

  5. Use Filters for easier identification. For example, you can identify luminaires connected to Port 1 of Vertex controller first.

Example of using filters for easier commissioning.

6. Below, you will find the list of luminaires found in/on the selected Vertex controller/port/criteria. To identify the luminaire, turn on the Identify switch. The selected luminaire will start blinking.

Turning on the identification on the given luminaire.

7. Select the pencil icon and rename the luminaire according to the project description, e.g. “V1/1/L1” etc. to provide easier grouping or programming at a later stage.

The identification of emergency luminaires is exactly the same as for general lighting luminaires.

The next step: Grouping of luminaires
