Installation guidelines
The installation must follow best practices for electrical work.
The type and protection class of all connected devices must comply with relevant regulations.
DALI installation
Standards
Install the DALI system in compliance with the IEC 62386 standard.
For more information, visit the DiiA website.
DALI bus cable requirements
Use cabling with a minimum cross-section of 1.5 mm².
Connect all DALI input devices and luminaires to the DALI buses on the Vertex controllers.
DALI bus length
The maximum DALI wiring length with 1.5 mm² cable is 300 m.
If the wiring exceeds this distance, the system may not function correctly.
Electrical conditions for the DALI bus
Voltage range: 9.5–22.5 V DC (typically 16 V DC)
Maximum continuous current per DALI bus:
230 mA for Vertex 3 and Vertex 4
180 mA for Vertex 2
Device limits on the DALI bus
Follow the recommended limits for DALI devices to ensure stable operation of the Ethernet2DALI system DALI design - limits
DALI bus topologies
Use only supported DALI topologies: line, tree, or star.
Loops or ring topologies are not allowed DALI design - limits
LAN network installation
The LAN network must follow best practices for electrical installations.
Use F-UTP category 5e cables and terminate them with RJ-45 connectors.
The maximum cable length between network devices is 100 m.
Perform structural cabling measurements to verify compliance with ISO 11801 or EN 50173 standards.
