Communication
Wireless Radio is a system based on 868 MHz frequency. This means the WR devices communicate on this frequency. The advantages of using this frequency is the long communication range and the fact that it is more resistant to metal in environments.Â
Wireless Radio 868 MHz devices are covered by a standard: ETSI 300-220. This means that they can co-exist without interfering with each other. The system does not interfere with the operation of other industrial devices on the 868 MHz frequency (industrial cranes, automatic doors etc.).
Communication layers
There are four different communication layers in wireless radio.
Internal network is the whole communication that happens inside the luminaire with a built in sensor. This is the connection between the sensor, a controller, a driver and a luminaire.
Local network is the communication that happens when the system is set up using the tablet. Luminaires and devices communicate with each other and work as a whole.
Extended network - this communication layer connects the Light Management System to other systems in the building. In universities, for example, it is often integrated with the window blind system.
Remote network - this layer is achieved by adding the Access Point. It enables remote monitoring of the system.
