5. Using the Tablet
Drawings - Importing
For the commissioning process to be as accurate as possible, drawings need to be imported onto the tablet.
Drawings can be manually imported onsite as follows:
Send the drawing to Wireless Radio to resize and convert into a bmp file
Download and Save the file to the tablet
Load the Wireless Radio Commissioning App > Drawings > New
Import a Drawing File by selecting Browse
Select the file and tap Okay
Drawings - Creating
If no drawings exist, then manual drawings can be created:
Tap Drawings > New > Create
Name the drawings and enter an x dimension for the width of the area being created
Once created click Modify to:
Add a Door(s)
Add a Window(s)
Add simulated furniture
Add a 600x600 or 1mx1m ceiling grid
Block out areas to reflect the room shape
If you add any of these modifications you must click save before being able to proceed.
Note – if manual drawings are required then the OEM should be in attendance with the commissioning engineer to ensure they are satisfied with the drawing layout prior to any additional works being undertaken.
Simulating Devices - Array
The OEM can improve the speed and accuracy of the commissioning process by adding simulated devices to the drawings before onsite work commences. This allows for luminaire positions to be allocated and adjusted.
Tap Luminaires > Locate
Drag your finger across the drawing from top left to bottom right
An orange box will appear along with 'Group Commands' on the left hand side
Tap Simulate Array > Enter Column Quantity (1-8) > Save > Enter Rows (1-3) > Save
The quantity of simulated fittings is now on the drawing
If you need to move the group (or a smaller group), drag your finger across the group and use the arrow in the bottom right of the screen
Repeat the process to add more arrays of fittings
Simulating Devices - Individual
Once you have simulated arrays for the majority of the devices it may be necessary to add one or two additional fittings manually:
Luminaires > Locate
Tap in the white bar below Find, this will add an individual simulated device
Tap and hold the device to drag it onto the drawing
Straighten the devices by clicking Snap and Save if you are happy with the amendment
The orange luminaires represent placeholders which will be replaced upon commissioning with real devices. This also serves as a check to ensure that all real devices have been captured on commissioning as an orange device only ever represents a simulated device.
Commissioning
Locate
In order to replace simulated devices with real devices:
Tap Locate, ensure your DONGLE is connected and Bluetooth Symbol is illuminated
For further details on connecting DONGLE - see 4. Connecting a DONGLEarchived
Press Find, if you are in range of Wireless Radio devices, the list will populate with up to 9 devices
Tap on device and use 'Override Off' Button on the top left of the screen. This will turn the fitting off for 5 seconds to allow you to identify which fitting it is
Once you know which fitting it is, tap and hold the device and drop it over the simulated device
A Warning Message will appear to advise you about to replace the device
If you have not simulated devices, click and hold the device and drag it onto the drawing and position it manually
Once you have located all of the fittings in the Find bar, press Find again to repeat the process
Devices will continue to be found until they are all on a drawing
If you drag a fitting onto the wrong drawing, this can be dragged back off the drawing or into the Find Bar so it can be found again
If you are too far from one of the found devices -
you can ignore it and Press Find again (the device will be found again on a subsequent Find)
or drop it into the 'Hold Box' - the small white box below the Find Box
It will be necessary to move around the site to locate all of the fittings.
Emergency Fittings
If you have emergency fittings, these should be identified at this stage of the process. This should always be done in accordance with the drawings provided by the OEM, with a visual check of the luminaire to make certain it is an emergency luminaire.
When locating luminaires and you find an emergency luminaire:
Tap ‘Configure’ in the bottom left of the screen and select Emergency on the left hand side
This will apply an 'E' to the selected fitting for identification
Creating Profiles
Once all luminaires are identified and placed onto the relevant drawing, the next stage is to create profiles in accordance with the Controls Philosophy.
Profiles hold all the parameters to be applied to the device.
To access this menu:
Profiles > Components
Create a new profile by clicking on the drop down box on '100 - Default'
Tap NEW PROFILE TYPE (this will create a copy of the profile selected)
Rename the device as appropriate and Save
Driver
Select the Driver, this will bring up the following options.
Select the Driver for the fitting:
Fixed Output - will not be dimmable will switch on/off only
DALI or 1-10v - will allow the following settings to be applied
Select the required settings for this profile:
OnLevel - the maximum on level of the luminaire
FadeTime - the length of time the fitting will take to fade to Standby Level
StandbyLevel - the level of the luminaire once it is dimmed
StandbyTime - the length of time the luminaire remains at the Standby Level
Set at 127.5 for Never Off
PowerOn - enter the wattage of the luminaire at full output
DayNightEnabled - See Application Note - Building Occupied & Unoccupied Mode

No other settings will be applied and you can Save Changes
E3Module - select this if you have Wireless Radio stand-alone emergency luminaire or integral emergency.
Save Changes
E3Module
If there are emergency fittings of this luminaire type this select the E3 Module Box and the appropriate Emergency Manufacturer. It is not necessary to have a standalone profile for emergency and non-emergency luminaires of the same type.
If there is more than one type of emergency module manufacturer, you will need multiple profiles
Save Changes
LDR
The LDR box can be used to set up Daylight Sensors.
Daylight Sensors - if you have a Recessed IP20 or Surface IP56, review the Spec Guide to determine whether to use Sensor Up or Sensor Down

If you make changes to profiles or which profile a device has then you must check that all changes have been synced.
Linking
Now devices need to be linked into groups.
Presence
Tap Luminaires > Link
Individual Link
To put an individual link between luminaires, determine the two fittings to be linked and drag your finger between the two devices.
This will put a link in the direction you drew the line
If you require a bi-directional link, draw a line back the other way
Multiple Links
Select the group of fittings you'd like to link by dragging your finger over them
You will be presented with 6 options
Link All(xx) - this will link all luminaires together so that presence detected on any sensor will bring the other linked fittings on
Unlink All - this will remove all presence links for the group of devices
Link From X - this will provide a link from another device. If you select this option you will be prompted to enter the full device number
Link To X - this will provide a link to another device. If you select this option you will be prompted to enter the full device number

Backup
It is important that the commissioning tablet is the Master and is Uploaded to the cloud for several reasons:
Unless the Project is uploaded to the cloud, no information will be available on the internet Dashboard.
Unless the Project is uploaded to the cloud, the ACCESS POINTs (if installed) will not be able to upload information to the Cloud.
If the project is uploaded to the Cloud then it will be available for other authorised tablet users to download and potentially take control of.
If you lose or break your tablet, having a backup in the Cloud will allow you to restore the project onto a new tablet.
To Upload:
Ensure the tablet is connected to the internet
Click on the blue Wi-Fi symbol > the yellow Cloud Control Box will appear
Ensure that Read Access, Write Access, Enabled, Uploading and Master are ticked
Press Re-sync
