In this article, you will find the most frequent errors during commissioning and maintaining the Ethernet2DALI system and possible solutions for these situations.

The most common electrical errors

The most common commissioning errors

Other errors with causes and actions

The most common electrical errors

  1. Short circuit,

    1. Short circuit is communicated with solid DALI line diode,

    2. Short circuit is communicated in Vertex graphic user interface,

  2. DALI line loop,

    1. It’s communicated neither in graphic user interface nor diodes on the front panel

    2. Picture

  3. DALI line break,

    1. Not all devices were discovered in the graphic user interface,

    2. Not all devices react to the ON/OFF function after pressing the DALI line button,

  4. Improper DALI line connection,

    1. Picture,

    2. It’s communicated in a graphic user interface as a short circuit,

  5. 230V on DALI line,

    1. It’s communicated with solid DALI line diode,

    2. It’s communicated as a notification in the Vertex graphic user interface (picture)

The most common commissioning errors

  1. I can't connect to the Vertex

    1. Check Vertex power supply, correct network connection, link (diodes on Vertex and pc)

    2. Check whether the computer is connected to the Vertex directly or via a switch

    3. Check if the network address is from the same address pool as Vertex

    4. The default address of the Vertex is 10.0.6.50

    5. Check the Vertex address using the Firestarter app

  2. What is CUID?

    1. CUID is an individual object identifier generated when the system is first started (by Firestarter)

  3. How to change the CUID?

    1. This can be done through the Firestarter app. Remember that this involves the loss of access to Vertex from the Glamox Connect level (new authorization required)

  4. What is the Vertex ID?

    1. The ID is a unique Vertex number located on the front panel of the device, which is used to identify the device on the site in Glamox Connect or by the LMS Support

  5. Luminaire control does not work

    1. Check the status of the LEDs on the Vertex

    2. Check the power of the Vertex

    3. Check the system logs

  6. How to change Vertex's IP?

    1. The Firestarter application is used to change Vertex's IP address
