This article is set to help you understand how we use programing in Node-Red in real life. These examples talk about control scenarios, their components, the type of saving you will get when using this scenario and a description of functionality. Each of them is linked to a different article in the KB, where we go into detail on how to set up a functionality.

Single office

Application

single office, kitchen

Components

control panel (eg. 2 buttons) + sensor

Savings

  • reducing energy consumption by using daylight

  • automatic switching off after leaving the room

Scenario

The lighting turns on when you press the “ON” button. Luminaries adjust the light intensity depending on the amount of daylight (daylight harvesting). If you have Tunable White (CCT) luminaries, they work according to an HCL schedule. When you leave the room, sensor stops detecting the presence and turns the lighting off after 15 min.

Alternatively, you can turn off the lighting manually using the “OFF” button.

Open plan office

Application

open plan office, open space

Savings

  • reducing energy consumption by using daylight

  • automatic dimming in your zone after leaving the room

  • automatic switching off after a long absence

Components

control panel (eg. 2 buttons) + sensor

Scenario

The lighting turns on when you press the “ON” button. Luminaires adjust the light intensity depending on the amount of daylight (daylight harvesting). If you have Tunable White (CCT) luminaires, they work according to an HCL schedule. When you leave the room, sensor stops detecting the presence in your zone and dims the lighting after 15 min. If you don’t come back in an hour, the lighting turns off.

Alternatively, you can turn off the lighting manually using the “OFF” button.

Classroom

Application

classroom, meeting room, conference room, board room

Savings

  • reducing energy consumption by using daylight

  • automatic switching off after leaving the room

Components

control panel (eg. 6 buttons) + sensor

Scenario

The lighting turns on automatically. Luminaires adjust the light intensity depending on the amount of daylight (daylight harvesting). If you have Tunable White (CCT) luminaires, they work according to an HCL schedule. When you leave the room, sensor stops detecting the presence and turns the lighting off after 5 min.

You can also adjust the light manually using a control panel.

Corridor

Application

corridor

Savings

  • automatic dimming after leaving the corridor

  • automatic switching off after a long absence

Components

sensor

Scenario

The lighting turns on automatically. When the sensor stops detecting the presence, the lighting dims after 5 min. If nobody comes in 10 min, the lighting turns off.
