8. Adding an Access Point to a drawing

The article only applies to projects that have an LMS WIRELESS ACCESS POINT (IP20 or IP65) installed on site.

Placing an Access Point on a drawing associates it with a specific site. This prevents the Access Point from being incorrectly linked to nearby projects or sites, which is especially important when multiple projects are located in close proximity. If an Access Point goes offline or requires on-site maintenance, its location can be quickly be identified. Technicians can search for the Access Point by its serial number using either the tablet or the Drawings page in the Dashboard, making troubleshooting faster and more efficient. Always place the Access Point on the drawing as accurately as possible. Access Points are often installed above suspended ceilings or in other concealed locations. Accurate placement on the drawing ensures the device can be easily be located for future maintenance or replacement.

To automatically add an Access Point to the drawing, use the Find feature. If you are unable to Find an Access Point, then the Access Point firmware may not be up to date and will require the manual process.

  2. Tap the ‘Find’ button [1].
