Why is Two-Factor Authentication important?

Two-Factor Authentication is important because it significantly improves the security of online accounts such as the Dashboard. Here are a few reasons why it’s important:

  • Adds an extra layer of security making it harder for attackers to gain access.

    • Requires you to use a password and a second factor via your mobile phone

  • Protects you agaisn’t password theft.

    • An attacker may steal your password via a phising attack, but they would still require the second factor to access the Dashboard account.

  • Reduces the impact of using weak passwords.

    • The Dashboard doesn’t advise if your password is weak or not. By enabling two-factor authentication, an attacker could easily guess this weak password, but the second factor would prevent unauthorised access.

Once Two-Factor Authentication has been enabled on the Dashboard, it will require you to use this feature everytime you log in.

How to enable Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Go to the Dashboard (https://dashboard.liteip.com/) and login.
