Q: I updated the graphics drivers on my laptop/notebook, but it still doesn't work properly!
A: Newer laptops use hybrid graphics technology, which usually combines Intel and some other vendor graphics.
In some cases, this might not work with OptiWin 3D pro. In such cases, the problem can be resolved by forcing the system to use the discrete GPU (NVIDIA/AMD).

Instructions for the NVIDIA Optimus technology:

  1. Start the NVIDIA Control Panel

  2. Choose 'Manage 3D Settings'

  3. Choose the 'Global Settings' tab

  4. Select the 'NVIDIA' entry from the Main GPU dropdown list

  5. Save settings and restart Optiwin 3D pro

Instructions for the AMD Hybrid technology:

  1. Start the Advanced Catalyst Control Center ('CCC - Advanced')

  2. Click the Graphics menu and select 'Switchable Graphics'

  3. Click on the 'High-performance GPU' button

  4. Click OK to save settings, then restart Optiwin 3D pro

Luminaire Placement

Q: I changed luminaire types, and now the calculation result seems to be much lower than expected.
A: When changing luminaire types the height of the luminaires will not be automatically adjusted. Select your luminaires/groups and use the function 'Place in ceiling' to fix this.
