This article shows how to connect a Kinetic switch when you have a Dongle connected and luminaire are identified.

Necessary components

Requires a Glamox Wireless Radio luminaire with CPW2-SEN sensor with firmware version 6.8.135 or newer, if you have older software go to article Updating LMS WIRELESS DONGLE

Step by step instructions

These steps need to be followed in the chronological order, or the commissioning will fail.

1. Enabling the Kinetic Master Luminaire:

Make sure the desired luminaire is on firmware version 6.8.135 or newer.

1.1. Enter the Luminaires tab [1] and choose to open the configure option. Click on the desired luminaire with CPW2-sen or other WR-G4 device [2] to pair with the Kinetic switch (this will act as the Kinetic Master).

1.2. Click ‘Configuration' [3] and tick the ‘Enable EnOcean’ box (EO) [4]. A virtual Kinetic switch device will appear next to the device on the drawing [5]. The Kinetic Switch ID will be the digits of the luminiare and a zero (on the drawing you will see a shortcut).

2. Establishing Links for Scene Control

To perform these actions go to the Luminaires tab and to the Link option [6].

2.1. Linking virtual Kinetic Switch device and Kinetic Switch Master luminaire to self

Click on the Kinetic Switch Master luminaire [7] and select ‘Link to Self' [8].

2.2. Linking virtual Kinetic switch device to Kinetic Master luminaire

Draw a directional presence link from the virtual Kinetic switch [9] to the Kinetic switch Master luminaire [10] .

4.jpg

2.3. Linking to other Wireless Radio devices

Draw directional prescence links from the virtual Kinetic switch device [11] to other surrounding devices which need to be controlled by the Kinetic switch.

You can also create presence links by highlighting the devices you want to be linked and click ‘Link from x', using the virtual Kinetic switch device serial ID.

3. Creating and Assigning the Kinetic Switch Scene Profile/Settings:

We now need to create dedicated profiles for the Kinetic switch to work from.

If you will want for one button to set some lights to light level A and some other to light level B etc. you will need to create multiple profiles.

3.1. Enter the ‘Profiles’ tab [12] and from the drop down menu [13] , choose ‘NEW PROFILE’.

3.2. Make sure the Controller type is set to SceneController [14] and in the Advanced mode [15] the Dim Up/Down option is ticked [16].

Dimming down - Long press on a button

Dimming up - Long press, release and long press again immediately after releasing

3.3. Save the changes [17] and remember the profiles number, you will be needing it later.

3.4. In the ‘Luminaires’ tab, select the new Virtual Kinetic Switch device [18]. Go to ‘Configure’ [19] and from the ‘Scene Profile’ dropdown menu [20] select the newly created Kinetic switch scene profile.

23.jpg

3.5. Enter the ‘Scenes’ tab [21] and select the ‘Kinetic Switch Master’ serial number in the Scene Controller drop down menu [22].

3.6 Apply the linked profiles from the drop down menu [23] and press 'Sync'.

3.8 Go back to the ‘Luminaires’ tab and make sure the Kinetic Switch Master Configuration is sync’d.

3.9 Proceed to use the LMS Wireless Kinetic switch.

If you are using a 2-button LMS Wireless Kinetic Switch, use scene buttons 3 & 4 in the Commissioning App. If you are using a 4-button LMS Wireless Kinetic Switch, use scene buttons 1,2,3 & 4.

The Kinetic Switch Master serial number is the same as the physical device, plus an additional '0' on the end. Example: Physical device marked as EnOcean Master = 123456, virtual Kinetic Switch Master acting as the scene controller = 1234560

4. Pairing Kinetic Switch to Kinetic Master luminiare

4.1. Click on the virtual Kinetic Switch Luminaire [24].

4.2. Click the ‘Pair’ button [25] to activate commissioning mode.

4.3. Perform the following steps on the physical Kinetic switch:

  • Press button for ten seconds

  • Release button

  • Tap the same button

  • Release button

  • Press button for ten seconds

Confirmation blink:

Observe the light connected to the LMS Wireless Kinetic Switch device. It should blink three times, indicating a successful commissioning.

Once the light is paired, wait an additional 10 seconds before pressing a scene switch button. Failure to do so will interrupt the final pairing process and you will have to repeat step 2.
