Commissioning app version 94+ is required to enable PIR repeating.

PIR Repeater Disclaimer

Repeating PIR messages on projects SHOULD be the very last resort to on-site troubleshooting and should be used sparingly.

Too many PIR repeaters adds to the probability of causing a network storm within the on-site system. Therefore, if PIR repeating is implemented, the lesser quantity of repeaters, the better.

Failure to keep PIR repeaters to a minimum can result in an excessive amount of communication traffic between devices, subsequently leading to an unstable/unusable system.

Instructions

The Example Scenario:

To the right is a warehouse environment with racking aisles. Each racking aisle has 4 luminaires with presence links between each node.

The client is stating that some of the racking aisle luminaires are turning on when the first PIR is triggered, but not all luminaires.

The first diagnosis is to determine which luminaires receive the presence messages from triggering the first PIR within the racking aisle.

This can be achieved by duplicating the currently configured profile and reducing the PIRTimeOut to 30 seconds for a quicker diagnosis response.

  1. Click ‘Configure’.

  2. Select the last device which received the PIR message. (In this case it would be the 3rd luminaire [1] in each racking aisle).

  3. Tick the ‘Repeater’ box [2].

Note: The device will turn RED, and you will need to re-write the configuration to the device(s).
