To design the features below, as a basis, you need a Vertex ApC with DALI luminaires connected. There are several principles of DALI designing you have to know. For some purpose, or in the case of a large project, you might need also a LAN network.


1. Daylight harvesting

The lighting adjusts to changes in the intensity of daylight. This allows the luminaires to automatically increase or decrease their power, maintaining a certain lighting intensity level in the room.

What do I need?

To use this feature, you need to have a DALI-2 sensor connected to the Vertex ApC. All sensors on the Glamox E2D component list are multisensors.

Multisensors combine movement/presence detection and light intensity measurement.

2. Motion/presence detection

A sensor detects movement and the lighting turns on (eg. 100%). Lighting is on until the sensor stops detecting movement. After some time (eg. 3 minutes), the intensity of the light decreases to a given level (eg. 50%). After another period of time (eg. 15 minutes), the lighting turns off.

Designing tips

Focus on the detection field. It depends on the mounting height. Note that the presence detection field is smaller than the motion detection field. You can find all the required information in the product sheet (/wiki/spaces/ME/pages/1816461375).

3. Control panels (buttons)

The most intuitive way to control the lighting is to use classic wall panels (buttons). You can assign a group or a scene to each button. Pressing the button turns the lighting on/of, triggers a scene and changes the colour temperature. Holding the button usually dims the lighting.

4. Schedule

The lighting can be programmed to switch on and off at given times, or it can switch over to a different mode (with motion detection or daylight harvesting). Another useful feature is the synchronization of the actions in relation to sunrise and sunset times.

5. Personalised user interface

6. Space Logic

If the space is divided by the partitions into several zones, the lighting in each of the zones can be controlled independently. The lighting is automatically adapted to the new spatial arrangement.
