Pre-Commissioning

Creating a New Site

This is the Home Page for the Wireless Radio Control App. You can return here at any point by tapping on the site postcode. On this page you can view the sites you have set up locally on the tablet or have available to download from the server.

If you tap on a postcode under “Postcodes on Tablet” you will be able to see information related to that site. This will not work if you select a drawing under “Postcodes on Server” as the data must be downloaded first (see Postcodes section).

...

Post Codes

To create a new site tap on the “Add New Postcode” button.

...

If the postcode has already been created then after pressing Validate you will be prompted to press Download and not Validate.

...

Drawings - Importing

For the commissioning process to be as accurate as possible, drawings need to be imported onto the tablet.

...

  • Send the drawing to Wireless Radio to resize and convert into a bmp file

  • Download and Save the file to the tablet

  • Load the Wireless Radio Commissioning App > Drawings > New

  • Import a Drawing File by selecting Browse

  • Select the file and tap Okay

...

Drawings - Creating

If no drawings exist, then manual drawings can be created:

...

Note – if manual drawings are required then the OEM should be in attendance with the commissioning engineer to ensure they are satisfied with the drawing layout prior to any additional works being undertaken.

Simulating Devices - Array

The OEM can improve the speed and accuracy of the commissioning process by adding simulated devices to the drawings before onsite work commences. This allows for luminaire positions to be allocated and adjusted.

...

  • If you need to move the group (or a smaller group), drag your finger across the group and use the arrow in the bottom right of the screen

  • Repeat the process to add more arrays of fittings

Simulating Devices - Individual

Once you have simulated arrays for the majority of the devices it may be necessary to add one or two additional fittings manually:

...

The orange luminaires represent placeholders which will be replaced upon commissioning with real devices. This also serves as a check to ensure that all real devices have been captured on commissioning as an orange device only ever represents a simulated device.

Locate

In order to replace simulated devices with real devices:

...

Info

It will be necessary to move around the site to locate all of the fittings.

Emergency Fittings

If you have emergency fittings, these should be identified at this stage of the process. This should always be done in accordance with the drawings provided by the OEM, with a visual check of the luminaire to make certain it is an emergency luminaire.

...

  • Tap ‘Configure’ in the bottom left of the screen and select Emergency on the left hand side

  • This will apply an 'E' to the selected fitting for identification

...

Creating Profiles

Once all luminaires are identified and placed onto the relevant drawing, the next stage is to create profiles in accordance with the Controls Philosophy.

...

  • Rename the device as appropriate and Save

Driver

Select the Driver, this will bring up the following options.

...

  • Select the required settings for this profile:

    • OnLevel - the maximum on level of the luminaire

    • FadeTime - the length of time the fitting will take to fade to Standby Level

    • StandbyLevel - the level of the luminaire once it is dimmed

    • StandbyTime - the length of time the luminaire remains at the Standby Level

      • Set at 127.5 for Never Off

    • PowerOn - enter the wattage of the luminaire at full output

    • DayNightEnabled - See Application Note - Building Occupied & Unoccupied Mode

    • Save Changes

Device type

  • Select which device you have in the luminaire

...

  • G2 Controller - select this if you have a luminaire controller installed

  • If you have an integral presence sensor (3.3v PIR or Microwave) installed tick PIRENABLED in the PIR Box

  • PIR Timeout

    • Click PIR > PIRTIMEOUT to enter the desired timeout.

  • Microwave - select this if you have a Wireless Radio CMW Sensor

    • The controller box will automatically change to Microwave

  • Scene Controller - select this if you are setting up a scene controller

    • No other settings will be applied and you can Save Changes

  • E3Module - select this if you have Wireless Radio stand-alone emergency luminaire or integral emergency.

  • Save Changes

E3Module

  • If there are emergency fittings of this luminaire type this select the E3 Module Box and the appropriate Emergency Manufacturer. It is not necessary to have a standalone profile for emergency and non-emergency luminaires of the same type.

...

  • If there is more than one type of emergency module manufacturer, you will need multiple profiles

  • Save Changes

LDR

The LDR box can be used to set up Daylight Sensors.

...

  • Daylight Sensors - if you have a Recessed IP20 or Surface IP56, review the Spec Guide to determine whether to use Sensor Up or Sensor Down

Device Icon

Once you have set up each profile, you can change the icon so it's easier to identify on the drawing

...

Repeat the process for as many profiles as you require, remembering to save each profile

Applying Profiles

Once you have created your profiles, they can be applied to Wireless Radio devices.

...

Info

If you make changes to profiles or which profile a device has then you must check that all changes have been synced.

...

Linking

Now devices need to be linked into groups.

Presence

Tap Luminaires > Link

  • Individual Link

    • To put an individual link between luminaires, determine the two fittings to be linked and drag your finger between the two devices.

    • This will put a link in the direction you drew the line

    • If you require a bi-directional link, draw a line back the other way

...

Info

If you make changes to links or which links a device has then you must check that all changes have been synced.

For details on Daylight Linking - see Application Note - Daylight Linking

Checklist

  • Are all orange ‘simulated’ luminaires replaced by real devices?

  • Have all luminaires been assigned a profile in line with the Controls Philosophy?

  • Have profiles been checked to ensure they are on correct time outs and not any shorter ‘test’ timeouts?

  • Have all luminaires been linked together in line with the Controls Philosophy?

  • Are all devices and links synced?
